Course Update

Course update

Welcome to this week's course update.

It was great to have the course as good as it was for the club championship weekend.

It's becoming more and more difficult to produce the course as we would like with extreme weather patterns all year round, an ageing irrigation system, reduced resources and rising costs all adding to the mix. So it's even more satisfying that we keep finding a way to improve the course year on year and the team deserves great credit for their efforts.

Finally, we received some rain on Monday and it will help alleviate some of the strain on the irrigation system at least. It should also bring a bit of life back into tees, surrounds and fairways that don't have the luxury of irrigation.

We aim to get a little fertilizer on greens, tees and surrounds in the coming days but the latter will oy be treated if more rain is due.

There are quite a few little bits of tidying up to do around the edges of the course, mainly where irrigation leaks have had to be excavated and repaired.

Thanks for all the kind words regarding the course conditions, it's great to know people are enjoying it so much and also helps to keep spirits up within our small team of greenkeepers.
